Western Digital lança soluções de armazenamento de alto nível para ambiente NAS

Western Digital is launching a product line for small businesses and remote professionals (home office enthusiasts), leveraging NAS environments. Products include the first WD Red SSDs, which improve performance and memory capacity in hybrid NAS environments, as well as the 14TB WD Red and WD Red Pro HDDs.

SSD performance to support high speed connection

As virtualization increases, connection speeds of 10GbE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) or more are becoming an essential feature of modern NAS systems. To avoid a performance bottleneck, SSD speed is crucial.

To fully meet the requirements of these environments, device storage durability, speed, and capacity are increasingly required. From the needs of consumers in Western Digital's WD Red line portfolio, the products are designed to transform the customer experience. When used as a caching device, the WD Red SA500 SSD helps boost performance, while the new capacity of the WD Red and WD Red Pro HDS offers more storage space on the same NAS devices.

The newly introduced products are:

Designed specifically for NAS enthusiasts, the WD Red SA500 NAS SATA SSD offers capacities from 500GB up to 4TB1 (only 2.5 inches) and creates an environment optimized for 10 GbE networks, as well as caching NAS systems to access frequently used files quickly. With superior resistance to heavy NAS read and write loads in a 24/7 environment, the drive supports OLTP databases, multiuser environments, photo rendering, 4K and 8K video editing.

In addition to the SSD WD Red SA500 NAS SATA, the latest capacity increase of HD WD Red to 14TB1 is designed for use on NAS systems with up to 8 tabs. Ideal for 24/7 environments, in small offices and at home, the unit supports a workload rate of up to 180 TB / year.

HDD WD Red Pro NAS Hard Drive
Built like the WD Red HDD, with a boost to NAS professional workloads and a capacity of up to 14 TB1, the WD Red Pro HDD supports up to 24 bays. With 3D Active Balance Plus technology and error recovery controls with NASware 3.0 technology, the unit operates with enhanced reliability.

Pricing and Availability

The WD Red SA500 NAS SATA SSD comes with capacity from 500GB up to 2TB for the M.2 format and priced from $ 699. The 2.5 inch model of the SSD WD Red SA500 has a capacity of 500GB to 4TB and costs from $ 749. Both formats are available from your Mazer dealer. The 14TB WD Red NAS HDD and 14TB WD Red NAS Pro HDD are available to companies at Western Digital partner resellers and integrators.

WD Red's new products will be integrated into Western Digital's HDD and SSD portfolio specifically designed for a variety of applications in the corporate, customer and gaming markets. For business customers, Western Digital has recently enhanced its WD Gold Enterprise Class HDD storage solution, now available in capacities up to 14 TB1.

By enabling data possibilities, Western Digital offers one of the industry's broadest product and solution portfolios to help people capture, preserve, access and transform their content. For more information, visit our website: www.westerndigital.com
