Chinese manufacturer TLC will announce its new mini-LED technology televisions at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020. The company's goal is to introduce models with high contrast images to challenge the dominance of OLED models in the high-end market.
They promise read and write speeds up to 550MB / s and 520MB / s respectively
As Tech Radar explains, Mini-LED TVs use smaller lamps than traditional LED TVs, which gives you more control over the backlight. The great advantage of this type of Smart TV is that they can achieve higher brightness rates than OLED, which makes a big difference when it comes to viewing HDR content.
On the other hand, OLED models with top of the line LG are able to control brightness independently for each pixel, which generates a contrast that can be considered perfect (or infinite). But technology also has its problems, such as not being able to offer a very high maximum brightness and the possibility of burn-in.
Also according to the publication, a series of new models of TCL TVs should be presented during the company's keynote. This presentation will be held on January 6, a Monday, at 17h in Brasilia time.
Meanwhile, LG is expected to introduce its new generation of OLED TVs during CES 2020. The same should be true of Sony, which uses LG's OLED panels as the basis for its own Smart TVs. Samsung is expected to showcase its new generation of QLED models.
