NVIDIA is very active in research and development in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. The company recently created a prototype of 6-DoF GraspNet – an algorithm that helps robots pick up arbitrary objects.
It is considered as the supercomputer menu for embedded and edge systems.
In August this year, the company also recorded the fastest BERT training time in the world and trained the largest 8.3 billion parameter Natural Language Processing (NLP) model, the GPT-2 8B.
Now the California Giant has partnered with the community of hardware engineers Hackster.io to launch the AI at the Edge Challenge competition.
The competition will give participants a chance to use the NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit (image below), a small, powerful computer that lets you run multiple neural networks in parallel to build creative and innovative designs that fit one of the following three. categories:
– Standalone and robotic machines
– Intelligent video analytics and smart cities
– Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)
Competitors will compete for collectively worth $ 100,000, including a new TITAN RTX GPU, a Jetson AGX Xavier Developer Kit, a paid trip to the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2020, and credits for Public Cloud Compute.
In addition, one of the projects created for the competition that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence for social good will also be crowned with the IA Social Impact Award as part of the competition.
The AI at the Edge Challenge contest entries will close on January 31, 2020. That is, from today you have 59 days to complete and submit your project to the competition.
