Smart TV's release date in India has been officially confirmed: December 5, 2019. The company has already started sending invitations to the launch event to the press.
Flikpart has entered into a partnership with Nokia that gives the right to use the Finnish company's brand in smart TVs in India. It also has its own line of smart TVs “MarQ by Flikpart”.
Recently leaked images show part of the design of the TV – particularly the upper left and lower right trim, which bears the “Sound by JBL” mark:
Flikpart has already revealed that Nokia Smart TV will have features like Minimal Harmonic Distortion and Clear Vocal Tones to deliver a more immersive audio experience. Support for Dolby Audio and DTS TruSurround will enable high quality audio playback. Nokia Smart TV can decode surround sound with the help of DTS TruSurround.
The TV has already been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in India, confirming the existence of the 55 inch Ultra HD (4K) model. It will come with Android 9 installed, Play Store access, JBL Audio speakers, and support for Intelligent Dimming technology, which will provide better contrast and darker black levels thanks to the algorithm used. Other companies use similar technologies for this.
At 55 inches, Nokia TV will come with Android 9 installed
With the launch of its TV in India, Nokia will compete with competitors such as Xiaomi Mi TV, OnePlus TV and the recently launched Motorola TV. Note that Motorola TV was also launched in the country through a partnership with Flikpart.
Entering smartphone makers into the smart TV market may seem strange to many people, but this is one way to profit from the growing streaming services market.
On December 5, Nokia Mobile will launch three new smartphones, Nokia 8.2, Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 2.3.
