With the upcoming launch of the MIUI 12 interface, Xiaomi is increasingly releasing information on what the new version of the system will look like, including a new user design with new visuals and animations. Obviously, the MIUI Camera app has also been revamped with new icons, features and gesture commands, and a new feature leaked earlier on the internet.
Chinese manufacturer confirmed on the official channels the arrival of the software
According to user Deiki (@Deiki) on Telegram, source of the XDA Developers website, Xiaomi is expected to launch a feature called “AI Shutter” for the camera of its devices. The new tool is similar to Google’s Top Shot feature on Pixel smartphones.
The clue of this new feature was taken from the system codes of the interface, identified in the MIUI Camera application updated in the latest beta version of MIUI 12. According to the information, the application will recommend the best photo in the series of photos taken while the user keeps the shutter button pressed. Basically, in a selection of several photos, the smartphone’s artificial intelligence should indicate which is the best image among them.
The Android Quick Settings panel has been modified and can be customizable
The “AI Shutter” feature is not yet available on any Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone. The company is expected to make the new tool available for selected devices soon, while releasing the stable MIUI for the brand’s various models.
MIUI is an interface for Xiaomi / Redmi devices based on the Android operating system. The newest version (MIUI 12) is being released periodically in beta, stable beta and stable versions for compatible devices listed by the company.

The new version of MIUI brings visual improvements, in addition to corrections in the dark theme, optimized privacy controls and improved support for navigation with gestures on Android 10.
