Tesla and The Boring Company CEO Elon Musk has proposed the creation of earthquake-proof underground tunnels as the solution for traffic in big cities. To prove his point that there is a demand for such a work, the businessman has created a poll on his official Twitter account.
SpaceX founder and CEO also reveals that Black Mirror is his favorite series on Netflix
He asked, "(Shall I) create super-safe, earthquake-proof tunnels beneath cities to resolve traffic (?)." The action had more than 1.4 million votes at the end of its period, with the response "definitely" receiving 66% of the vote. "Maybe" got 18% of users and "no, I like traffic" got 16% of the vote.
"These would be road tunnels for zero-emission (electric) vehicles only – the absence of toxic gases would be the key. In fact, it's just a street below ground, but limited to electric vehicles (of all car manufacturers). That It should not replace other solutions, such as the surface train, but be complementary to them. "

The executive, who is also CEO of Tesla, argued that the world's major cities need to use any variety of tunnel possible to resolve traffic. For him, it does not matter if the tunnels will be used for cars or trains, but that is the solution to a traffic that only gets worse.
"Multi-level tunnels can solve this, so it's worth a try … (The solution may be) creating super-safe, earth-proof tunnels under the city to solve traffic."
