Dimensity 1000, novo chip da MediaTek, atinge mais de 500 mil pontos no AnTuTu

The Dimensity 1000, MediaTek's new chipset, has barely been announced and has already made a noise. The processor, which will support 5G and will power high-end smartphones by 2020, appeared on the AnTuTu benchmark with a score of over 500,000.

As the Gizmochina website recalls, the Dimensity 1000 will be MediaTek's first flagship since the HelioX30 “failure” in 2017. The processor will come to compete directly with chipsets like Exynos 990, Kirin 990 5G and Snapdragon 865.

The Taiwanese chip maker's new AnTuTu score – exactly 511,363 points – was posted on Weibo by user Hilarious Digital. The benchmark result does not bear the device identification, but shows that the device was equipped with the Dimensity 1000. For comparison, the Vivo NEX 3 5G, first in the list of best performing devices on AnTuTu in October 2019, reached 482,917 points, closely followed by the Honor V30 Pro 5G (476,480 points). The recently announced Red Magic 3S score (510,496) is closest to the new MediaTek chip.

speculated to be a variant of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G

Although identification of the tested device is a mystery, it is speculated that it may be a variant of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G that will be released next year.

Dimensity is an octa-core with four 2.6GHz Cortex-A77 processors and four other 2.2GHz Cortex-A55 processors. The new MediaTek chip will also feature the Mali-G77 MP9 GPU – the same as the Exynos 990.

Equipped with the Helio M70 5G modem, the Dimensity 1000 will be able to achieve download speeds of up to 4.7Gbps, and 2.5Gbps upload. In addition, according to MediaTek, it will be the first to allow the use of two SIM chips in the 5G network.

With AI management, Dimensity will have a dedicated five-core image processor that will allow you to use up to 80MP sensors or dual camera configurations with 32MP and 16MP sensors. Another highlight of the new chip is support for HDR video. According to MediaTek, its processor will also be the first to support Google AV1 format up to 4K resolution at 60fps. The chipset also supports 90Hz refresh rate QHD + displays and up to 120Hz refresh rate FHD + displays.

The first smartphones that will make use of the Dimensity 1000 are expected to reach the Asian market by early 2020. The United States and Europe will receive the devices in the second half of next year.
