Cooler Master will soon start a project on Kickstarter to finance the launch of Pi Case 4, a protective cover for the Raspberry Pi 4 that promises to offer complete cooling using only passive dissipation, which means that you won’t need to plug the case into energy to keep your Raspberry cool and operating in optimal condition.
The manufacturer lists the following advantages for your case:
– Durable aluminum / TPU coating
– Long lasting premium finish
– Unmatched thermal performance
– Allows for faster CPU clock speeds
– 100% passively cooled for completely silent operation
– Open source design
– Full access to board connections
– Resumable on and off button
– Slim and compact
– VESA mount compatible
It is worth making a small comment, as Adrenaline points out, that the case allows access to the card connections, but prevents the installation of “add-on” cards, as expected. The feature is known as HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) and cannot be used with your Raspberry Pi 4 inside the Pi Case 40.
Prices for 2GB and 4GB models remain $ 35 and $ 55
The most important feature of the case, however, has not yet been revealed: the price. The Kickstarter campaign starts next Monday, July 6th, and the different prices depending on the contribution should be revealed on that day.
But those who are already interested can still get a discount. Anyone who signs up on the Kickstarter campaign “waiting list” will be entitled to a 25% discount on the undisclosed amount when it starts. To register, just access the Pi Case 40 official website and click on “join the waitlist”. You will be required to register your name and e-mail address in the process and, by subscribing to the waitilist, you automatically accept to have your data collected by Cooler Master and shared with company partners.
