Belgium has banned non-essential trips to Navarra, Aragon, Barcelona and Lleida, Spain, to the Lake Lemano region, Switzerland and the French department of Mayenne, because of their epidemiological situation in those locations.

According to AFP, the Belgian Foreign Ministry has also decided to include in this red list the city of Leicester, England, several areas of Romania and the Bulgarian regions of Severoiztochen and Yugozapaden.

For the inhabitants of Belgium who are returning to the country from any of these places, it will be mandatory to go through a screening and respect a quarantine period.

Therefore, as of this Saturday (1), anyone who returns to Belgium from abroad or who wishes to stay more than 48 hours in the country must complete an identification form, providing their contact details and the places they have visited in the past 14 days.

Faced with a resurgence of the outbreak of the new coronavirus, Belgium imposed new restrictions this week, reducing authorized contacts, meetings and expanding the use of masks. A curfew was declared from late evening to early morning in Antwerp, writes Agence France-Presse.
